How You Can Become a Responsible Balloon Retailer

This committee, comprised of industry representatives from manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and practitioners, was formed to help educate and reinforce smart and environmentally responsible balloon practices to the entire balloon industry as well as the general public.

So what are SMART balloon practices?

                                         Safety

                                Mandatory Weights

                                Accountability

                                Responsibility

                                Teaching

By applying these principles to balloon retail and the education of the end consumer, we can help protect the industry as a whole.  Ignoring them could generate negative press, such as escaped foil balloons being caught in power lines and causing blackouts.  Also, BY LAW in California each foil balloon must be sold with a weight.  Retailers who don't abide by that bring down the image of the entire industry.   

So what does it mean to be a Responsible Balloon Retailer?

Being a Responsible Balloon Retailer means you have taken a commitment to include weights with all foil balloons, even outside of California.  It also means you acknowledge your responsibility to educated consumers on the potential dangers of foil balloons.  In return you will be given a window cling to put in your storefront to let the consumer know you are a responsible and reputable retailer.
